How can you tell how many watts you are using to vape?

I'm using a very old setup that I found years ago and liked and have never changed. The Kanger T2 tank with cheapo batteries mostly purchased via ebay. I'm reading around the site and seeing that there is harm in vaping at high temperatures. How do I know if I'm in the "safe" range? I usually have 2 tanks going at all times to alternate.

Can't the "vape companies" fix this? Are they working on a solution? I feel very out of touch with developments in the ecig world and some of these...
