Spitback burned tongue?

Hello all,
For a few days I've been noticing that the front part of my tongue feels burnt while vaping. I thought spitback could be the cause. But then I don't know if the liquid can get that hot that it can burn your tongue or not.
Anyone else have the same experience?
Any inputs?
